What else is worthy of note? Well the graphics are absolutely stunning – make no mistake these beauties are a noteworthy improvement over the Dreamcast – and Smilebit having created a stunning and stylish vision of future Tokyo with their unique a very appealing graphical style. Without doubt the most visually original game I have ever played. At times the detail of the world and the scale of it can be breathtaking. It’s one of the Xbox’s prettiest games, for sure.

A niggling fault is definitely the camera angle, which can be a little erratic and disorientating at times, this comparatively minor gripe being the game’s most annoying detractor. Having said that, the rest of the games control system is pretty intuitive, especially when it comes to the all-important tagging, which allows you to fly through the city at breathtaking speed, executing tricks whilst tagging. Great stuff.

Multiplayer Jet Set Radio Future is something of a treat, as you should have already guessed, the arcade style and pace of the game proving ideal for a little split-screen with friends. Indeed, it is this mode that will keep you relishing JSRF long after the singleplayer experience has either driven you mad simply through being so hard, or you’ve completed it.

To conclude then, Jet Set Radio Future is a rare gem of originality and genuine personality. It shows-up many other critically acclaimed titles as being rather unoriginal by comparison, and whilst it isn’t perfect, is sure to have grinning with joy as you’re immersed into the unique world of Tokyo 2024. An essential purchase.
