Obviously in a Champions League game you would expect to find the League mode, with all of the correct draws and groups in place, but you can also play in friendlies or single matches. Considering that there is no practice mode, these last two modes will prove invaluable if you are to succeed within the actual league. You will also find a mode in which you can create your own teams and edit players, you can’t edit the real teams, but you can create your own kits and players. It’s fun for a while but lacks any real use as you will most probably buy this game for the official licence, not to play with made up teams (although it was fun to make a Rushden and Diamonds squad!).

So then, in conclusion, here we have a game with all of the class, glitz and glamour of the real tournament, just with a few minor problems holding it back. Perhaps the next version will be perfect, considering what an improvement this was over the original.
