These action-values can be witnessed in the well-balanced and exciting gameplay, as Comanche 4 keeps you occupied with all manner of enemy, which come at you in droves compared to the rather slow-paced nature of more realistic efforts. The controls allude to this too, being rather more simple than an actual helicopter (well, obviously), and not even attempting to mimic their complexity; indeed the best combination (if you haven’t a Joystick of some kind), seemed to be that of Mouse and keyboard; most commonly used in games such as Max Payne, or derivatives. This speaks volumes about the experience of playing Comanche 4. A fun, fast, and action-packed shooter; with a few ‘bells and whistles’ added , just so you know you’re in a helicopter.

Of course, the simple ethics of the game aren’t going to provide you with hours of top-notch immersive gameplay, however the addition of a full-compliment of options should keep you entertained for a reasonable length of time. The game is versatile too, enabling you to ‘fiddle’ quite a lot with a smorgasbord of settings (such as camera angles, etc.), if you like that sort of thing.

Finally then, Comanche 4 is actually quite a rewarding experience, benefiting from a simple and enjoyable approach to gameplay, and a well polished whole (not to mention the stunning visuals). It’s not groundbreaking, nor will it take over your life, but it’ll certainly amuse for a good few hours, which is helped by the multiplayer options.
