Ubi breeds Nightmare Creatures
New game, new owner
Ubi Soft today announced that they’ve purchased the game Nightmare Creatures 3, and the NC brand, from former developers Kalisto. Ubi Soft plan to release the latest in the series across multiple platforms in 2004.
Nightmare Creatures 3 has been given the working title ‘Angel of Darkness’, which won’t please Tomb Raider publishers Eidos greatly, though the game does bare more than a passing resemblance. Players will apparently play an acrobatic heroine, battling with monstrous beasts and solving all manner of puzzles across central Europe in the 19th century.
Ubi Soft are promising an immersive, horrific and cinematic experience. "With the rights to the Nightmare Creatures name now secured, we are making sure that players remain as enthusiastic about the series as they have been up until now," said Alain Corre, Ubi Soft's Managing Director for Europe, Asia-Pacific and South America. "The action-packed gameplay and fascinating story of Nightmare Creatures 3 promise to take the fright factor of the genre to new highs."
