The usually sure-footed boss has been dodging questions about the release date for Prime 3: Corruption on the the console, despite previously stating that the game would be released come 'early 2007'.

"The focus on Prime 3 is to make that the stellar game for a first-person experience on the platform," the president of Nintendo America, told MTV. "What that means is we're going to make sure it's perfect when we launch it. I think this is one where your readers - the fans of Nintendo, the core gamer - need to recognize that when we release it, it will be perfect."

He added that he hoped gamers wouldn't be too put out by any which transpires, as he's sure their going to like the game, and anyway, no one seemed overly miffed that Twilight Princess took a tad longer to develop. So, a delay it is then.

Still, on the plus side, Wii owners in North America (and soon other regions too, we'll wager) do have some new VC games to enjoy. First up is Donkey Kong Country from the SNES (800 points, already available in PAL territories), followed by New Island (600 points). The Legend of Kage also hits the service (500 points), as does Sega's influential Streets of from the Megadrive (800 points).

More on all this soon.
