Virtual Console gets Mario Kart 64
Today, 1000 points
If not the most, then certainly the second-most exciting game to hit the virtual console service, Nintendo have revealed that Mario Kart 64 is bound for the Wii's online game delivery platform today. The critically-adored racer is on the VC now, and will set you back 1000 Wii points.
Turbografx's Soldier Blade has also landed on the service and can be yours for a cheaper 600 Wii points. Oh, and as you may have read yesterday, a News channel is on the way - allowing you to navigate the latest headlines via a 3D globe and the Wiimote.
Mario Kart is only the second N64 title to hit the console, though plenty more are promised where that came from. 20 Euros will land you 2000 Wii points, so that should help you do the maths. Past offerings on the VC have come under criticism for being a little pricey, given the age of some of the titles on offer... but Mario Kart is certainly more of what the doctor ordered.
More on the VC as we get it.
