Carmack moots Orcs and Elves DS
Mobile title DS bound
Not content with spreading their unique brand of medieval tomfoolery on mobile phones, id Software are hell-bent on delivering Orcs and Elves to the Nintendo DS, it emerges today.
"We're hoping to do a DS game version of Orcs and Elves," id boss John Carmack told Game|Life. "Moving over and enhancing the cell phone game on there would be our first real direct entry back into the Nintendo world."
The new game is a first-person turn-based RPG, set firmly in the fantasy genre, with EA set to release the mobile version next month. The game is based on the Doom RPG engine, a Java-based creation, so it is unclear whether the DS version will simply be a port of this invention at this point.
It isn't yet known when the game will be released, nor who will be fulfilling publishing duties. We'll keep you posted, ye mortals.
