Boy killed in tragic GBA accident
Power adapter risk highlighted
UK tabloid The Daily Mirror today carries as its cover story the tragic death of a seven year-old boy, who was killed during an accident involving a GBA. The boy was electrocuted as he unplugged a charger in his hotel room in Thailand, The Mirror reports, with the headline reading: 'Killed by Xmas Game Boy'.
Connor O'Keefe's death at the Sunset Beach Hotel in Phuket was described by Thai police as a tragic accident, whilst his distraught mother explained that Connor was aware that electricity was dangerous, telling the paper: "There should be some kind of warning about different electrical currents you get abroad because this would not have happened in England."
Nintendo haven't commented on this tragic accident yet, Game Boy products do carry warnings about using the correct power supply, and leaflets included with the product do speak of precautions and the like. We'll let you know if more emerges on this awful event.
