Kingdom Hearts III desired by Disney
But Square Enix too busy at present
More translated goodies from IGN this morning, with the site this time having partially interpreted a new interview from Dengeki PlayStation with Square Enix producer Tetsuya Nomura. Nomura-san is the producer behind the Kingdom Hearts series, and he reckons that Disney are already banging on the door, urging the company to create Kingdom Hearts III, despite the fact that number two is only really just out the door.
Despite the unashamedly odd premise, the RPG has won a legion of fans, cunningly blending worlds and characters from famous Disney animated movies, with elements of the Final Fantasy series. Apparently, Square Enix have "already been approached by the Disney side saying that they want us to make it," according to Nomura. Unfortunately, the game maker simply can't commit to the creation of a new game at present, as all their developers are currently busy with big-name titles like the new Final Fantasy outing.
Nomura admitted in the interview that Square had plenty of ideas, but simply couldn't commit to undertaking Kingdom Hearts III yet, the producer describing it as "physically impossible". This said, Square Enix are working on a Final Max version of number two for the Japanese market, so when this is complete who knows what could be next on the agenda.
