X06 goodies pour onto Live (updated)
New trailers, Sonic and more arrive...
Continuing their attempts to keep me writing news pretty much indefinitely, Microsoft have launched another volley of content onto the Xbox Live Marketplace. In addition to the arrival of a fully-functional Doom last night, we've also been gifted such treasures as new theme and picture packs for Halo Wars - arguably the most significant title announced yesterday evening in Barcelona.
A 314 MB demo of the new Sonic the Hedgehog game also landed for people to try out - so you can see for yourself just where Sega think the next-generation of blue hedgehog games should be heading. The new title includes old-comerade Tails, not to mention Silver the Hedgehog who can do all kinds of David Blaine-esque telekinesis tricks.
But wait! There's more. Those connecting to Live will also be able to take a gander at the Halo Wars trailer, as well as new videos for Banjo-Kazooie, Marvel Universe Online, BioShock, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. Of the game's that weren't unveiled at X06, trailers for Call of Duty 3, Viva Pinata, Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, FIFA 07, and Rainbow Six Vegas are also now 'Live'. Geddit?
Update: A new WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2007 demo has just hit the Xbox Live Marketplace, as Microsoft continue their 'Bringing it Home' extravaganza. There are also some brand new trailers live for Tony Hawk's Project 8, Wheelman, Frontlines: Fuel of War and Crossfire. Not only is this raft of content now available, but you can also really get into the X06 vibe with a new pack for the 360 dashboard - or opt for Lionhead's Fable 2 as an alternative. More as we get it.
