Sensible World of Soccer bound for 360
New title and Arcade versions sighted
Sensible Software's seminal Sensible World of Soccer, a 90s classic on the Amiga and PC which blended the manic gameplay of the original Sensi with a cut-down management aspect, is coming to the both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 Arcade - we can reveal this evening. The new game for the 360 will be an entirely new title built for the console from the ground-up, whilst a port of the retro title will be made available to download from the Arcade.
The Arcade version of SWOS is scheduled for Q1 2007, we're told. Nick Pili of developers Codemasters enthuses: "Sensible World of Soccer for Xbox 360 Live Arcade will enable fans of the original and a new generation of gamers to experience a beautiful game that’s recognised as the classic Sensi title. Making use of Xbox Live for online multiplayer matches will take the SWOS experience to a whole new level of gameplay perfection."
"We're delighted to welcome Codemasters on board for Xbox Live Arcade. To have such an iconic gaming experience as Sensible World of Soccer lined up as a future title is fantastic and will deliver the perfect match for Live gamers. Xbox 360 is already the home of next-generation football - with Sensible World of Soccer, Xbox 360 gamers will be able to enjoy the seminal console football game experience too," added Chris Lewis on Microsoft's behalf. What a result...
