With the Tokyo Game Show now winding-down in and the collectively going home for a nice long bath, the final few news reports are just trickling in from this major event on the gaming calendar. 1UP.com, for example, enjoyed a little behind the scenes hands-on time with the PlayStation 3 interface, revealing that the dashboard is reminiscent of the PSPs in style, enhanced with more features and lot more glamour.

No pictures are available of the interface at present, according to 1UP's report, as Phil Harrison described the system as too early to be shown publicly at present. Apparently, the photo element of the system is rather more sophisticated than the 360s, allowing you to display your photos but also edit them too. Various effects can be applied to the images stored on the - with something akin to a chopped-down Photoshop, complete with numerous filters, sounding like the general idea.

Harrison also toured journalists around the player aspect of the dashboard, showing-off the light display and a slick interface, but ultimately not demonstrating anything groundbreaking. The web browser was also shown-off, and is expected to be free (unlike Opera on the Wii) apparently, attendees being shown various websites such as PlayStation.com and Google, working perfectly on the new console. Indeed, it sounds a tad like the browser will work a bit like Firefox, with tabbed-windows the order of the day for navigating between sites.

Whilst it sounds a touch like the interface is in its infancy at present, are quick to point out that ever-more features will be added over time, with updates promised indefinitely even post-launch. More soon.
