A new report in the UK's Magazine, claims that over 7000 titles will soon be playable on the PSP handheld, thanks to a new emulator being crafted by themselves. The magazine claims that the 7000 figure will be reached by the end of 2007, and that Sony has already let-slip the first raft of supported games.

Games such as VII and apparently count among the first wave of supported titles, though for their part Sony aren't divulging much beyond reconfirming that yes, they are indeed working on the emulation of PSone titles to be downloadable for the PSP.

"...no further details have been released as we are finalising plans and awaiting official confirmation on software line-up. We will be in touch soon with more news," site Eurogamer.net were told by Sony, in request for comment concerning the magazine article.

We'll keep you posted on this.
