With a new SiN heading to PC screens courtesy of Valve's Steam delivery service, one of the most ambitious games yet to be distributed via the internet in episodic form could be heading to next-generation consoles in the near future. As reported online, development vice-president Tom Mustaine has confirmed that an Xbox 360 version of SiN Episodes is definitely in development even if the details remain ambiguous, "we also are hoping to be doing a PlayStation 3 version as well," he added in an interview with Ain't It Cool News.
Interestingly, Mustaine also revealed that rather bundling a number of episodes on a DVD, or selling them individually at a lower price, that Ritual are planning to distribute the game via Xbox Live's Marketplace. This would make SiN one of the first few console games to be delivered in its entirety via an online service. Previously, the Marketplace has been used only for add-ons, demos and other content extra to full titles.
We'll keep you posted as Ritual formulate their online plans for the 360, as well as the PS3.
