Controversial 'Massacre' game reassessed
Office Zombies revealed
Responding to the frenzy of controversy which met the public airing of mobile game Office Massacre, developer Alten8 has revealed that they were so shocked by the negative reception the game received from consumers and the mainstream press, that the game is now being altered. The plot and theme will be altered, the game re-titled Office Zombies. The game was originally due out soon, but will now be pushed back slightly while Alten8 make the necessary alterations to tone-down the controversy-stirring game.
"After genuine shock at the negative press being generated after a few individuals commented on the title, which was seen as nothing more than a cartoon game by those involved with it, Alten8 decided the right moral decision to take was to remove the game before it went to market in that form," read an official statement circulated by the company. "Further to that decision and in conjunction with the original development team, Zen Design, the game is being quickly reworked, and graphical and plot changes made to rebrand the game as Office Zombies."
The game was lambasted as irresponsible and the work of 'idiots' by certain commentators, and it is this criticism which the changes are no doubt in part responding to. Alten8 are reemphasising the simple nature of the mobile game, and asserted the responsibility of their "social and business model." More as we get it.
