UK games website Eurogamer.net is today reporting the latest in the ongoing surrounding former boss Stefan Eriksson, who has been living in the United States since his departure from the ill-fated gaming handheld start-up. Earlier this year, Eriksson's Ferrari Enzo was written-off in a major crash on a Miami highway. The car, one of the most valuable in the world, was believed to be taking part in an illegal street-race, though Eriksson claimed a mysterious German chap called Dietrich was driving at the time of the crash.

Now the LA Times reveals that another one of Eriksson's flashy rides has been impounded by Californian police, after cops stopped his wife while driving the car, and discovered that the vehicle was not 'street-legal' in the US. Further investigations and contact with police revealed that the Mercedes SLR-McClaren (worth nearly half-a-million USD), might actually be stolen. Eriksson imported three cars into the in 2005, but "said they were show cars," according to the US authorities.

Investigations into the Enzo crash are ongoing, and it is now possible Eriksson's other remaining Ferrari might be at risk, as investigations continue into the former Gizmondo executive, with previously alleged links to organised crime in Sweden. More as we get it.
