High-flying Hollywood producer Scott Faye has spoken this week to columnist John Baudiosi, revealing that shooting will begin on a movie adaptation of in 2007. A healthy budget of between 10 and 100 million USD is available for the project, depending upon the nature of the director's vision. A gritty, no-nonsense action-thriller is apparently on the cards, with a 'respected' scriptwriter on-board to "transpose the character into the parameters of linear entertainment and find subtle ways to remind the audience throughout the film of the pain that the character is going through." MP developers would be proud.

Faye was enthused by the project because it apparently took him back to the classic cop of the 60s and 70s, allusions to Clint Eastwood's The Outlaw Josey Wales have been drawn, and this is no bad thing.

Another project which Faye's involved with is the adaptation of American McGee's Alice for the silver-screen, which promises a darker, more twisted take on Lewis Carroll's children's classic. "The script that we have now blends the spirit of the original work by Lewis Carroll with American McGee's unique vision of the mythology to create a story that is very compelling," Faye told Baudiosi, explaining that a budget of 40-50 million USD is available, and that Sarah Michelle Geller will star.

"What makes this different from other situations is that we have our Alice and we have a director that has a very visceral sense of how this game world should look on the big screen," the producer added. Faye even announced he's working on a third, secret, game-to-film project.
