Ecko and Wolfenstein films mooted
More games on big screen
Yes yes, we know about Tomb Raider, and Doom with The Rock, but perhaps you hadn't heard that 'movies' based on Far Cry, Dungeon Siege, Metroid, Silent Hill, Spy Hunter and several more are also on the way? If that's the case, you may also be interested to learn that yesterday it came to light that new flick's based on Atari's Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure and id's Wolfenstein could also soon be gracing our cinema screens. Whilst id haven't announced officially that a studio-partnership has been forged to make the Wolfenstein movie, there is undoubtedly potentially there, whilst MTV and Paramount will partner to bring the world of Marc Ecko to the big screen.

"Today, graffiti is a global cultural phenomenon and few understand its impact better than MTV, pioneers in its use as a motion graphics tool nearly two decades ago," graffiti artist and game star Ecko enthused. "I am delighted to have the ability to bring the depth of our story to life on film." The game on which MTV's film will be based is out early in 2006. A heady blend of future setting, action, and of course graffiti is promised.
On the prospect of a Wolfenstein film, meanwhile, id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead told a film website that "Our next order of business is to try to get Wolfenstein made into a movie; I think it could make a very interesting film." Hollenshead added that the film could be scripted to tie-in with the new Wolfenstein game currently in development. More on all this soon.
