Doom 3 levels loose on Live
Two from the add-on for free
Activision and id Software have put their heads together and decided to release a couple of new Doom 3 maps via Xbox Live this week, despite the fact that the new multiplayer levels in question are in fact bundled within Resurrection of Evil, the add-on pack released for the game last week in Europe. The new pack includes seven fresh playgrounds in total, with the free ones being made available on Live called Communications and Surface.
Communications is set on Mars, in a Martian warehouse of all places in fact, and promises tense fighting down long hallways with plenty of cover to liven things up. By contrast, Surface is all about just that - being on the surface, exposed in the open air, with lots of space and less cover being the order of the day. They're certainly an enticing proposition as freebies, so we urge Doom players to make for Live without further delay.
The Resurrection of Evil pack includes seven new maps, but sadly you can't play between owners of the add-on if you download these freebies, which probably means they're meant to be tasters. More as we get it.
