With the champagne now flowing at Microsoft's soiree in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam, the news is slowly but surely beginning to trickle out concerning the big announcements of the show. Firstly, we learn a little of EA's plans for Burnout on the 360. It's happening, basically, but it won't be an entirely new version, instead developer plan on updating Burnout Revenge for the new console. The game is scheduled for a release in early 2006, so won't be a release title like EA's FIFA, NFL, et al. Visually, we're promised several improvements to take advantage of the new hardware, with 'bloom effects' on the cards - among other examples of new-fangled next-gen jiggery-pokery.

Criterion are also promising that there will be some exclusive content added to the debut for Burnout. Quite what form this will take remains unclear currently, but we're expecting new tracks, cars and - what would be really nice - something gameplay related made possible by the new console's power. Though we won't hold our breath for this last wish.

Burnout Revenge was released nearly two weeks ago, and has been garnering high review scores and even a number two spot in the All Formats chart. Which is a good start. More on all things Xbox 360 as we get it.
