GTA man's Xbox 360 game revealed
Crackdown revealed
The latest game being developed by Scottish developer Real Time Worlds has been revealed a little more today, with the studio shedding some light on this Xbox 360 title being created by the man behind GTA and Lemmings, David Jones. The new game will be called Riot Act in Japan, and Crackdown in western markets, and is currently being described as a futuristic GTA with added online play. This latter element in particular is sure to please Microsoft's Live bosses.

Crackdown is set in a metropolis of the future, in which three criminal syndicates are vying for overall power. Amid this urban turmoil, players will assume the role of a special agent (with 'special' powers) assigned the task of cleaning up the town. Our hero will be doing battle with The Cai-Shen Corp (an Asian gang of hitmen), The Volk (Russian firearm experts) and La Muerta (a Spanish conglomerate of autophiles). It'll be your job to clean-up the city by murdering the bosses of these respective gangs.
The city of Crackdown will, we're told, be brought to life with thousands of inhabitants. There will also be hundreds of streets and areas to explore and a full day-and-night cycle. Skills such as driving, running and shooting will evolve RPG-style based on your experience and the growth of your skills in the game. You can even customise your character. A co-operative mode will be included online, as well as standard 'versus' play. A 2006 release is planned. No word on a publisher, yet.
