Whilst Uwe Boll's experience in directing games-based films is unsurpassed, his projects have hardly been acclaimed by gamers and critics when hitting the silver screen (Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead proving most notably disastrous). So, when the Internet Database listed the German doctor as the man in charge of the new flick, fans of the title began vocalising their extreme concern. Of course, its all a big joke, with some IMDB user out there on the web having a good old chuckle at all the outrage being generated by his submission to the community-driven film site. Universal and Twentieth Century Fox haven't even chosen a director at this stage, having only just agreed the terms of a deal between them, and Microsoft, to create the film based on Bungie's masterpieces. The new film will, we already know, be based on an Alex Garland script - which Redmond reportedly paid one-million USD for.

A future Halo outing, presumably being created for the 360, will tie-in with the film, and is apparently demanding a first-class to further the strength of the series, with advising the producers of the film. It therefore seems unlikely that Boll would be selected as the man to lead this key project. Couple this with Boll's work on Dungeon Siege, Postal and Far Cry, and we see that the director probably doesn't even have time to head the new film. Congratulations on a great prank though, to whoever altered the Halo page on IMDB. We salute your wit, sir!
