Phantom sighted in Europe
Infinium moot European debut
Despite stiff competition from the Xbox 360 now fast approaching on the horizon, Infinium Labs are still working towards the launch of the Phantom games console. Whilst a launch is still planned for North America, we haven't heard much of Europe - until now that is. Yes, the 'games on demand' service which functions using broadband is coming to continental shores, and will be launched complete with access to "a broad library of games designed to appeal to both the avid gamer as well as the casual player," according to an official statement.

The European debut was made earlier this week at the Develop Industry Excellence Awards, with Infinium CEO Kevin Bachus on hand to enjoy a "fantastic response" to the Phantom console. "Europe and the UK have a pivotal role in content development," he commented. "There is huge support for an effective online channel that takes gaming direct to consumers."
No pricing or dating for a UK or European debut was revealed, but with the system still unreleased stateside it appears to be some way off at this juncture. More as we get it.
