Game Boy Micro only talks to GBA for money
New accessories required
Nintendo have recently let it be known that their imminent Game Boy Micro will be unable to use current GBA accessories and will have to rely on brand new products instead. Existing GBA wireless adapters and link cables will not work with the GBM so anyone who finds themselves with a GBM and some friends playing wireless GBA games will have to fork out for the new adapters which Nintendo is planning on selling. As this information was first gleaned from a Japanese products page for the GBM, it is unknown how many other GBA accessories will not function with the GBM at this point.
Considering the tiny size of the Game Boy Micro it's inevitable that the connection ports would have been miniaturised as well, and considering the prices of the new adapters, both under ten pounds, the financial burden shouldn't be too much to bare either. The Game Boy Micro launches in Europe and other PAL regions on November 4th with an RRP of £69 UK.
