Patch axes Hot Coffee from San Andreas
Gamers can now remove naughty content
Rockstar have released a downloadable patch which removes the controversy-courting 'Hot Coffee' content from the PC version of GTA: San Andreas. The offensive content - a pornographic mini-game, was enabled by a community created patch for the PC game, but this latest 'upgrade' for the title from Rockstar enables concerned parents to remove the sexual content. The so-called 'Hot Coffee' mod has caused such a stir stateside that at one point even Senator Hilary Clinton became involved. San Andreas was subsequently upgraded to an 'Adults Only' classification, and was effectively banned in Australia.
"The Hot Coffee scenes were not intended to be part of the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas experience," commented Rockstar, upon unveiling the patch. "If your copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the PC has been altered by the unauthorised Hot Coffee download circulating on the internet, or you wish to prevent your version from being so altered, download and install the patch for your version of the game." An entirely new version of San Andreas for all formats is expected soon from Rockstar, removing the adult content at source, with Rockstar hoping to regain the title's original 'Mature' rating stateside, and once again go on sale down-under. More on this soon.
