PSP charger re-charged
New power in Japan
Related
Japan has had the PSP so long now (since last December) that the number of products related to it already threaten to crush retail shelves, despite the fact that PAL regions are still waiting for a taste of next-gen handheld action. How typical. Still, Sony are about to add to this cacophony of extras in Japan, with the release of a brand new charger next week. The new charger - snappily titled PSP-190 we're told, will reduce the total recharge time for a dead PSP battery to one hour thirty-five minutes. That's a reduction of forty-five minutes over the previous charger, if you're battery is completely dead.
July 14th will see the new charger's debut in Japanese retailers, and we assume it will be made available stateside as well. 3,500 Yen will get you the wee peripheral - that's about $35 US. Hopefully, the more powerful charger will come as standard when the PSP finally makes launch in Europe and other PAL regions. A black remote control set will also debut on the 14th, costing 2,800 Yen. More on the PSP soon.
