Official: Pro Evo goes PSP
But will it be online capable?
Speculative evidence from an online retailer and Atari's Australian release schedule had already hinted that Pro Evolution Soccer 5 might be going handheld for the first time, and today creators Konami confirmed that this is true. Despite Nintendo hinting at 'Winning Eleven' (Pro Evo's Japanese title) for the DS in release schedules, reports suggest that the game will now be created solely for the PSP, not the DS. Atari publish Konami games in Australasia, hence the release schedule gaff. Lead designer veteran Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka had already mooted the possibility of a PSP version in interviews, as well as suggesting a PS2 Online mode with numero five in the popular series.

Whether or not the new PSP version will also boast online play remains to be seen, but if they can do it for the PS2, we know its possible on the PSP - so fingers crossed. When this version is out remains also to be seen, but if it launches alongside the console versions then we can expect it around the end of October this year by most estimates.
