LucasArts head for handheld Battlefront
PSP Star Wars looms
Having announced a series of new games at E3, including a brand new Indiana Jones outing for 2007, we today learn that LucasArts will be self-publishing their first handheld game too - in the shape of Star Wars: Battlefront II for the PSP. James Bond: Nightfire creators Savage Entertainment are currently hard at work on the project, and we're promised four-player action across landscapes taken from all the flicks, including Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. No date has been offered for this interesting prospect, though we do know that the console version is out this autumn.
The PSP will even be getting a few exclusive modes, thanks to Savage, who will give players the chance to act as an Imperial sniper, a mercenary, or a Rebellion smuggler. The likes of Star Wars: Empire at War were also revealed at E3, and much is expected of LucasArts upcoming titles; the firm vowing to make better use of their more-than-potent IPs. More soon, then.
