New DICE shooter confirmed
.. as well as a Battlfield PSP port too
Digital Illusions CE, occasionally known as DICE, and always regarded as a top developer, have today announced plans for a brand new first-person shooter, to be published by EA on the PC in autumn 2005. The new title is reported to be based on an existing DICE 'IP', which to us suggests some form of Battlefield spin-off, and may be on show at E3 next month. The Swedish developer's Canadian division in Ontario are creating the new title.
Meanwhile, a new version of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat is being developed for the PSP handheld. The port is being handled exclusively by EA UK, though shouldn't be too large a task given the proximity of the PSP hardware to the PS2. EA Warrington and DICE Sweden are jointly creating this first console foray for the Battlefield series, whilst an Xbox 360 version has even been mooted too. We'll keep you posted on all the latest.
