Lord of the Rings goes massively multiplayer
Vivendi expands the franchise.
Vivendi Universal today expanded upon its use of the Tolkien (from the estate) licence. It announced a couple of brand new titles, most excitingly, a MMORPG ‘Middle Earth Online’, and a brand RTS title ‘The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Ring’.
Additional console and PC games based on ‘The Twin Towers’ and ‘The Return of the King’, are also promised, while we await ‘The Fellowship’ this Christmas, and ‘The Hobbit’ in 2003.
