Vivendi Universal today expanded upon its use of the (from the estate) licence. It announced a couple of brand new titles, most excitingly, a MMORPG ‘Middle Earth Online’, and a brand title ‘The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Ring’.

Additional console and games based on ‘The Twin Towers’ and ‘The Return of the King’, are also promised, while we await ‘The Fellowship’ this Christmas, and ‘The Hobbit’ in 2003.
