It may have its work cut out, but Tiger Telematics handheld platform is certainly giving us increasingly frequent reasons to take note - even if rumours of a 2 port to the system proved false (the 'big name' title hinted at turned out to be a the Hedgehog game, in fact). The Gizmondo's latest claim for credibility comes with the announcement of the several new games heading to the system, just out in thus far.

Johnny Whatever is perhaps one of the quirkiest sounding new titles (ever?), and promises plenty of Brit-infused humour, as the premise demonstrates: "The Iron Royals have enslaved the populous, Rock-N-Roll has been outlawed, and the Queen has been imprisoned in a vat of mustard while squads of Robo-Bobbies terrorise the populace." Sticky Balls is a new puzzle game, Fallen Kingdoms an other-world adventure affair and SCI's Richard Burns Rally is also en route. Many of these titles will be created in-house at Gizmondo, or at their recently acquired Warthog studio.

Momma, Can I Mow The Lawn? Is the world's first lawnmower driving game, Milo And The Rainbow Nasties is a third-person style game themed around the reclamation of colour in a world-turned-greyscale. Furious Phil is a style affair, set on route 66, whilst Future Tactics will also be adding a newly strategic option on the new hardware. All in all an impressively balanced array of new titles there; we're beginning to think this looks promising... a fact highlighted further by Sega's planned new offerings, in the form of several 'Classics'.

As previously mooted, Sonic is en route - and will be joined on the Gizmondo by OutRun, Golden Axe, Altered Beast and Shinobi. Though the titles themselves won't be spruced up for debut, instead remaining 'as nature intended', true to their ancient arcade origins - according to the spin from Gizmondo Europe COO Steven Law. We'll keep you posted on this.
