Presented by Gaz Top, the ECTS Awards have been collated, counted and handed out. The biggest surprise was the “Best Multiplayer Game of the Show” – presented to a team of unknown Korean developers for their virtual reality table tennis arcade game. Having played a few rounds myself I can confess how addictive it is. I’m not sure how it would fit into a seaside amusement arcade though – I nearly had my opponent’s eye out on several occasions.
Unsurprisingly GTA3 was voted the game of the year, also walking away with "Console Game of the Year Benelux" and "PC game of the Year France". Game of the show went to Ubi Soft’s Splinter Cell.
