Gran Turismo 4 suffers set-back
But will still be out this year in Japan

With just two weeks to go (or so we thought), it now seems that Polyphony and Sony's long-awaited racing extravaganza Gran Turismo 4 has been delayed at the last, suffering a slippage which knocks the game just beyond Christmas. The title was due out on December 3rd in Japan, but will now arrive a little later on December 28th. Polyphony's delays and problems have been of the high-profile variety, with the loss of an eagerly-awaited PS2 Online mode being a particular blow two months back.
The game is out in early 2005 in Europe, with some quarters suggesting a February debut for the much delayed racer. Of course, whether it'll have been worth the wait with the most promising feature removed, remains very much to be seen. Polyphony have stated that they may still attempt a stand-alone online Gran Turismo at a later date. We'll keep you posted.
