Sony are promising a 'unique in physical gaming' this week, in announcing the EyeToy Kinetic, a brand new addition to the quirky motion-sensor series developed with the help of Nike. The game is actually a 'fitness' title, and (whose London studio are developing the title), promise a game which will improve "not only general fitness but also reactions, posture, balance, breathing and all round body toning and conditioning." Which, let's be honest, we could all do with.

Nike's fitness gurus will help contrive appropriate moves for particular work-outs, whilst Sony have created a new wide-angle lens for the EyeToy camera, enabling a greater range of movement. Moves from a range of disciplines are promised covering Tai Kwon Do, Modern Dance, Kick Boxing, Aerobics and Karate across a variety of games.

"We are thrilled to be collaborating with the Nike Motionworks team on our first fitness title for PlayStation 2," said London studio's Jamie Macdonald. "As PlayStation expands into this new arena, we are proud to have the support of the leading brand behind us. Nike represents a passion for sports and fitness and this is the spirit that lies at the heart of EyeToy:Kinetic". The game is out in early 2005 in Europe.
