New Star Wars RTS en route
LucasArts look beyond Episode 3
As you may or may not know, George Lucas and co are currently plotting animated and live-action TV spin-offs based on the Star Wars saga, which will take the Star Wars universe in new directions. Accordingly, new games will also be created after Episode III's launch, and we now learn of a brand new Star Wars real-time strategy game being developed as part of this thinking.
The new title was revealed by LucasArts president Jim Ward, who announced: "a new real-time strategy PC game that Petroglyph is developing for next year. This game will take the genre in a new direction and will balance gameplay between the hard-core gamers who buy these games and the broader audience that's familiar with the Star Wars brand."
So we don't know much, but are aware that Petroglyph are formed from the developers behind games like C&C, Dune 2, Earth and Beyond and Z. We'll keep you posted.
