In our second handheld related news of the day, word reaches us that the parent firm of Gizmondo - Tiger Telematics - has announced the purchase of studio Warthog, in deal said to be worth $1.1 million. As well as strengthening the Gizmondo's influence and status in the European games industry, this purchase will also make Warthog's catalogue of titles available for the new platform. Warthog's purpose built game engine porting software may also prove useful to the plucky upstart, who announced the new opening of a flagship store in Carnaby Street today.

Richard Burns Rally will be the developer's first title released on the Gizmondo, and their back catalogue includes and the Philosopher's Stone, Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter and Looney Tunes Back in Action. The Gizmondo itself is being released in the UK now, with other locations set to follow in 2005, all being well.
