Thompson's GTA hunt continues
New cases en route
Despite repeated defeats in numerous cases across America, Florida lawyer Jack Thompson has continued his somewhat rabid pursuit of Rockster, alleging once again that the influence of Grand Theft Auto proved instrumental in another near-murder case. Massachusetts teenager Tobin Kerns was arrested by police whilst planning a massacre at his high school, on the anniversary of the hideous Columbine killings. Reports suggest the clearly disturbed fourteen year-old was also planning to kill police and paramedics attending his acts.
Thompson claims that GTA was one of Kerns' favourite games, and that the boy was actually using the title to train for the planned attack. "The technique of killing civilians and then first-responders when they get there is the primary scenario to win in all the Grand Theft Auto games," the self-proclaimed expert alleges, adding that games like GTA are "killing simulators actually used by gangs." Quite what conclusive or even vaguely convincing evidence he has for this proclamation remains ambiguous at this stage.
The lawyer has been involved in many cases of this nature, across several areas of the entertainment industry, and seems undeterred by the lack of conclusive psychological evidence for his allegations. The murder of Stefan Pakeerah in Leicester was also linked to Rockstar's Manhunt by Thompson, who states he will be bringing a case in relation to this act too. More as we get it.
