Despite offers for UK-developed Juiced from Take 2 and a rumoured bid from the former head of Acclaim, the publisher-less driving title from Juice Games has been bagged by - who made the largest bid for the game, previously part of Acclaim's line-up. Rumour has it that Take 2 tabled $10 million for the multi-format game, which will now be released in summer 2005. It is unknown what THQ paid, however.

The game was to be released imminently before Acclaim's collapse - and will now benefit from extra time, which may focus on the much-criticised handling side of the game. "We are very excited to have secured the rights to this strategic, highly sought after intellectual property," THQ's Jack Sorensen enthused. "The team is off to a great start and now has the time to build Juiced into one of the premiere brands in street racing."

More on this as we get it.
