The spate of extreme weather currently ravaging some parts of the United States and the Caribbean appear to be having a knock-on effect on the computing infrastructure too, albeit of the decidedly inconsequential variety on this occasion. Apparently, the Virginia based datacentre handling the beta had its roof ripped-off during a tornado last Friday, and news in suggests that the servers could still be down as repairs progress. The beta should be continuing soon, however.

Blizzard's boffins are said to be working extra hard to resolve the problem, though the beta cannot be resumed until is dry enough to be powered-up, apparently. Whilst the North American beta is suspended until the server returns, the European beta is currently still operational, as Eurozone servers a mercifully housed in France currently. We fully expect the servers to be operational again soon, with the strong possibility that they are indeed once again working now.
