New Tomb Raider soon
Details before Christmas, we're told
Crystal Dynamics' first take on the Tomb Raider series will be unveiled sooner than expected - this Autumn - according to reports from Eidos to investors. The new title will also be making a playable debut at E3 next May, and we believe Eidos hope to launch the game in June, before the end of their financial year. Crystal Dynamics were awarded responsibility for the next Lara outing after Core design royally cocked-up number six, though from what we gather number seven could be a whole different kettle of fish, proving ideologically closer to the series origins (we're told).
Lara is also reportedly a lot of more lithe in this new outing, which may well draw comparisons with the excellent Prince of Persia - a title not dissimilar to Tomb Raiders of yore; albeit rather better executed than more recent attempts. We look forward to further Lara-related exposes within the next couple of months, and it will be most interesting to see the direction Core are taking, given the importance of this next game to publisher Eidos.
