Valve: Steam Machines won't be limited to NVidia hardware
Valve's Doug Lombardi has tried to play down the impression given by their exclusive use of NVidia graphics hardware in their first wave of prototype Steam Machines.
The Valve marketing boss was emphatic that the prototypes were just that, prototypes, and not indicative if the final hardware specs of the finished machines which they plan to offer with NVidia, AMD and Intel graphics hardware inside.
"In 2014,” he continued, “there will be Steam Machines commercially available with graphics hardware made by AMD, Nvidia, and Intel. Valve has worked closely together with all three of these companies on optimising their hardware for SteamOS, and will continue to do so into the foreseeable future."
