Sony shifts 30 million PAL PS3s
Sony has announced that the PlayStation 3 as reached the 30 million sales milestone across Europe and the other PAL territories.
The figure announced is for cumulative sales of all models of the PS3 released since Sony launched the console way back in the misty past of 2007.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss Jim Ryan said, "This is a major milestone for us and clearly shows just how popular the PlayStation brand and products are within Europe and the PAL territories. We are really pleased with the success of the PS3 system over the last six years, and are committed to continuing our support of the platform with high quality products and titles that are of the caliber that PlayStation fans have come to expect."
Sony recently refined the PS3 into a super-slim model just in time for Christmas with a 500GB and a 12GB model hitting the stores for gamers to gobble up.
