E3 2004: GT4 in November
New details, too
With the latest edition of Gran Turismo 4 to be showcased at Sony's E3 presence from today, the platform holder has announced a few new details concerning the game, and its release date. This PS2 exclusive will debut worldwide in November, apparently, and in case you didn't already know 500 cars, 100 courses, new physics and PS2 Online support are the main draws.
The GT Photo and Online modes have been expounded upon further too, the former allowing players to take snapshots of their slinky automobiles in exotic locales from around the world (Piazza San Marco, Shibuya, Tsumago, Sagano, etc.), to be saved to memory card, shared online, or printed via USB printer. The latter Online mode will feature up to six-players battling it out, chat 'functionality', and a flexible menu system which will promote automotively-enthused online communities.
"With the extensive amount of detail and realism that is sure to provide hours of endless entertainment, Gran Turismo 4 further extends the franchise to new heights, serving as a true pioneer in providing sophisticated videogame technology that showcases the best of both the automotive and videogame industries," commented SCEA's Ami Blaire. "At E3, show attendees will get a glimpse of the many new features and enhancements that not only demonstrate a new standard for the genre, but will continue to build momentum for its upcoming November release. With its broad appeal and strong entertainment value, we believe that Gran Turismo 4 should be a staple in every gamer's PlayStation 2 software library."
November it is, then.
