Spector criticises the industry for focusing on guns and not believable characters
Deus Ex creator Warren Spector has taken a pop at his fellow developers for focusing on violence too much.
Spector has been wondering what the industry would be like if developers like id Software concentrated more on making believable characters than guns.
"Can you imagine what games we would have if [id's] John Carmack decided he wanted to create a believable character as opposed to a believable gun?" Spector mused.
He continued, "We focus a little bit too much on violence, but we all know how to do it. It's easy. And a lot of players seem to like it. It isn't all we can do and it certainly isn't all we should do."
