October arrival announced for DOOM 3 BFG Edition

Bethesda has announced a release date for their suped-up re-release of DOOM 3.

The BFG Edition of DOOM 3 is completely enhanced for the current generation of consoles including full optimisation for 3D visuals and 5.1 surround sound, a checkpoint save system, improved lighting and rendering effects and a new armour-mounted flashlight.

The game also includes both expansion packs, Resurrection Of Evil and The Lost Mission as well as the full versions of DOOM and DOOM 2.

DOOM 3 BFG Edition arrives on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October the 16th.
