E3 2004: LucasArts confirm new KOTOR for E3
Sequel on show this month
LucasArts have today confirmed their official plans for the biggest date on the gaming calendar, LA's huge E3 industry showcase. Perhaps most excitingly Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 will be on display, and has been officially announced for a release on the PC and Xbox in February 2005. This latest instalment, titled The Sith Lords, continues five years after the events of the original (and acclaimed) KOTOR. In this new sequel, developed by RPG veterans Bioware, players assume the role of what is assumed to be the last remaining Jedi in the universe. Force sight and Force confusion will be just two of thirty powers at the Jedi's disposal. A cast of returning and new characters is also promised, including several new baddies with which to tangle. Here's something official:
Assigned to protect the Old Republic and the Jedi Order from the terrifying Dark Lords of the Sith, players must explore and battle through seven diverse worlds while being challenged whether to choose the light side of the Force or surrender to the lure of the dark side.Other highlights LucasArts are planning for E3 includes Star Wars Battlefront, Mercenaries, Star Wars Republic Commando, and Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed. More on all things LucasArts as we get it then.
