DOOM 4 is definitely not cancelled asserts Bethesda

Work is still under way at id Software on the next title in their genre-defining FPS series DOOM.

Rumours had emerged, along with some possible screenshots, that DOOM 4 had been cancelled after the poor performance of id's newest title Rage.

Bethesda's marketing VP, Pete Hines has vehemently denied the rumours stating only that "Doom 4 isn't cancelled."

Bethesda also stated that the screenshots that appeared alongside the cancellation rumours are not real.
