David Jaffe to leave Eat Sleep Play
Studio boss longs for smaller development teams and projects
Now that Twisted Metal is finally finished and due for release, David Jaffe has confirmed that he will be leaving the studio.
Eat Sleep Play was founded by Jaffe and Scott Campbell in order to focus on downloadable titles and indeed Twisted Metal was originally intended to be a PSN title that grew beyond its original concept.
Jaffe has explained that he wants to be get back to working with a smaller development team saying to Gamasutra, "I'm leaving because - again - games are just getting too big to direct from 300 miles away & I miss the day to day of working direct with a team."
He is leaving to open another development studio in San Diego to create, "experiences that speak respectfully and powerfully using the language of interactivity."
