The venerable Japanese software house, Hudson Soft will close its doors following its acquisition by Konami.

The studio which brought us classic series like Bomberman, Island and Wonder Boy will cease to exist as of March the 1st as the last of their merger with Konami.

Hudson itself will be dissolved and absorbed into the publisher with its IPs likely to become part of Konami's lucrative and burgeoning mobile games portfolio.

It's a sad end for Hudson Soft which was originally founded all the way back in 1973.

Thanks Andriasang.
