Dark Horse to produce a Prototype comic
Radical Entertainment and Dark Horse Comics are collaborating to bring out a Prototype comic book series based on the games.
The new three-issue comic series will help bridge the gap in the story between the end of Prototype and the beginning of Prototype 2.
In the first book called The Anchor we find out what happened to the first game's main character Alex Mercer after the game ended. The second book, The Survivors takes a look at the outbreak from a group of Manhattan residents trying to escape the island. The final book, The Labyrinth, introduces Sgt James Heller, the main protagonist in Prototype 2 and gives a bit more of his history prior to the events of the new game.
Studio head at Radical, Ken Rosman explained: "With this partnership, our fans will finally be given answers to some dramatic loose ends from the first Prototype game, as well as the truth behind Alex Mercer's descent and evolution into a twisted shadow of his former self for Prototype 2."
The three books will be released fortnightly starting with The Anchor on February the 15th. Prototype 2 is in development on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC and is due out later in 2012.
